Cornell Sprint Alumni
The Alumni
The program has an alumni base of over 1400, of which over 70 percent
continue to support the program after graduation. This alumni base
of highly successful individuals provides the financial support
for the team through donations as well as career placement. This
gives the team a large network of contacts for internships and job-placement
opportunities. The team has a current endowment of $1.4 million,
and plans to fully endow the sport by 2006. Sprint football's extremely
loyal and influential alumni base is very fond of the program as
witnessed by their financial support and willingness to return to
campus for annual games and receptions.
A statistical analysis of the Cornell sprint football alumni base conducted in 1999 revealed the following:
· 13.2% are in the medical field, including 67 MDs.
· 15.9% are in financial industries, including the trading and investment banking fields.
· 21.1% are involved in business services, with over 60 CEOs and presidents
· 10.1% are lawyers
· 18.4% are in sales, many in real estate and insurance sales
· 12.8% are in the science field, with alumni working in fields such as architectural engineering, aerospace electrical mechanics.
· 8.5% alumni are in the educational field, including professors at major universities.
· The average sprint football alumni salary was $244,500.

· According to Forbes Magazine, more than one quarter of "America's Most Important Corporate Leaders" are Ivy League graduates.
· Cornell is among the most selective universities in the nation. Of the 3,200 freshmen who entered in 1996, 81% of those who attended high schools that report class rankings were in the top 10% of their class.
· Every year more than 20,000 students apply for approximately 3,000 places in the freshmen class.
